VASI

Vietnamese Advanced Summer Institute

Costs & Funding

There is a non-refundable program fee of $1,100 for this program. Participants are responsible for their own health insurance (required), pre-travel inoculations, and living expenses in Vietnam.

It is anticipated that VASI will be able to offer a limited number of subventions adequate to offset some, but not all, of the program costs. Applicants are encouraged, however, to seek funding from other sources to either fully support or supplement the cost of study of this summer program.

Students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and are currently studying at a university that offers Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowships for Southeast Asian languages should consider applying for a Summer FLAS award to cover VASI costs. Deadlines for FLAS applications are usually in February at most campuses. Please check with your school’s Southeast Asia Studies program or fellowship office to determine availability and eligibility for FLAS awards.
